Sports Massage
Sports/ deep tissue massage is the manipulation of muscles, fascia and other soft tissues of the body with the use of oil.
This type of massage therapy, involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). While some of the strokes may feel the same as those used in Swedish massage therapy, deep tissue massage isn’t a stronger version of a Swedish massage. Deep tissue massage techniques are used to break up scar tissue and physically break down muscle “knots” or adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) that can disrupt circulation and cause pain, limited range of motion, and inflammation.
At the beginning of a deep tissue massage, lighter pressure is generally applied to warm up and prepare the muscles. Specific techniques are then applied. Common techniques include:
Swedish style massage, effleurage (stroking), petrissage (kneading), compression, friction, tapotement (rhythmic striking), vibration, gliding, stretching, percussion and trigger points.
What Can I Expect?
Massage therapists may use fingertips, knuckles, hands, elbows, and forearms during a deep tissue massage. You may be asked to breathe deeply as the massage therapist works on tense areas.
After the massage, you may feel some stiffness or soreness, but it should subside within a day or so. Be sure to contact your massage therapist if you have concerns or if you feel pain after having a massage.
This style of treatment is especially beneficial for anyone suffering with recurring problems or injuries or anyone with specific areas of tension or restricted movement.
If you are interested in a massage to prevent sports injury, address sport-specific concerns, or to help with muscle recovery after sports, break down of chronic knots or tense muscles, or just like a firm strong massage then this is the massage for you.

There are many benefits of Aromatherapy massage, both physical and emotional.
On a physical level, the different massage strokes used during the massage can help relieve pain in tight, sore and tender muscles, increase blood circulation, help drain the lymphatic system which helps to eliminate toxins from the body and ease muscle fatigue.
On an emotional level, the mind and emotions are calmed, and a deep sense of relaxation is felt. Some essentials oils aid in actively reducing blood pressure and actively stimulate stress relieving hormones.

Reflexology Massage
Reflexology is a type of healing massage that utilises reflex points on the feet, hands and ears to stimulate healing and relaxation throughout the body.
Reflexology involves gentle but firm pressure applied to specific points on the feet, lower legs and hands. The reflexologist will use a combination of pressure points, gentle stroking massage techniques, rotation and mobilisation of the the joints and muscles of the feet, ankles and hands. The overall experience is that if relaxation and bliss.
Reflexology is an alternative treatment for a variety of conditions and has been in use for thousands of years. The ancient Chinese and Egyptians documented practices similar to reflexology as a treatment for a wide range of ailments.
Reflexologists believe there is a connection between zones in your feet and hands that represent certain areas and organs in the body. These areas or “zones” can be adjusted or stimulated through pressure and manipulation to promote healing and an overall sense of calm and tranquility.
The health benefits of reflexology include its ability to improve nerve function, raise energy levels, increase circulation, reduce muscle pain and fatigue, lower blood pressure and promote relaxation.
If you want a relaxing yet energising massage experience but don’t want a full body massage then this is the massage for you.
